CBGA (Cannabigerolic Acid): The Mother of All Cannabinoids
What Is CBGA?
CBGA (Cannabigerolic Acid) is known as the “mother cannabinoid” because it serves as the precursor to major cannabinoids like THC, CBD, and CBC. As cannabis plants mature, CBGA is converted into THCA, CBDA, or CBCA, which later become THC, CBD, and CBC through decarboxylation (heat activation).
Although CBGA itself does not produce psychoactive effects, recent research highlights its powerful therapeutic potential, making it an exciting focus in the cannabis and wellness industries.
How CBGA Works in the Body
CBGA interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) but works differently than THC and CBD. Rather than binding directly to CB1 or CB2 receptors, CBGA influences the body’s enzymes and metabolic pathways, helping regulate key physiological processes such as:
✅ Inflammation & Pain
✅ Metabolism & Heart Health
✅ Neuroprotection
✅ Antibacterial & Antioxidant Effects
